Now hiring for the following positions:


Communication Dispatcher

Paratransit, Inc. is now accepting applications for a full-time Communications Dispatcher. This position dispatches and monitors vehicle operators, route assignments and schedules, transmits and monitors radio communications in both routine and emergency situations, responds to calls for service using the latest highly technical automated software technology as Trapeze Scheduling Software, along with MDC (Mobile Data computer) on our vehicles. Most tasks will be of a confidential nature. The days and hours of work are to be determined. This position is considered safety-sensitive subject to Paratransit's drug and alcohol testing program. Applications will be accepted through Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Shift hours and days off may vary and are subject to change as determined necessary by Paratransit, Inc. Management. Two weeks notice will be given in the event of shift changes or changes in scheduled days off. Days off are consecutive on all shifts. The minimum qualifications include, but are not limited to:
  • An excellent knowledge and familiarity of Sacramento County
  • Minimum one year dispatch experience.
  • Ability to work and act professionally and cohesively in a shared work environment/strong team player qualities
  • Ability to work under strict time constraints, prioritize working tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong computer and organizational skills
  • Outstanding problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills in both oral and written form
Preferred qualifications:
  • Prior experience working with people with disabilities
  • Knowledge of Sacramento County geography, including city street systems, local landmarks, and peak traffic times and patterns.

Salary:

Vehicle Operators

Paratransit, Inc. is now accepting applications for Vehicle Operators to operate Paratransit vehicles safely and efficiently in the door-to-door transport of passengers to scheduled sites; to assist passengers on and off assigned vehicle; to assure the safety of passengers while riding in assigned vehicles; and to maintain accurate records and logs of trip information as required. The schedules for this position vary between the hours of 4:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., five or six days per week including weekends and holidays. The minimum qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Valid California Driver License

Vehicle Operators are eligible for medical and dental benefits on the first day of the next complete calendar month after being employed sixty days. After successful completion of five months probation, Vehicle Operators receive ten paid designated holidays per year and begin accruing paid vacation and paid sick leave. Paratransit, Inc. provides uniform shirts at no cost to the employee.

Vehicle Operators are required to join the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU).
