Starting on Sunday, August 27, 2006, e-van - the City of Elk Grove's newest paratransit service - will provide service the same day and up to two days in advance for persons who have been certified under the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and for seniors who are age 75 years old or older. The new reservations and cancellations telephone number starting on Friday, August 25, 2006 is (916) 683-8726, TDD/TTY: 711 through the California Relay Service. If you are currently certified through Paratransit, Inc., don't worry... your information will automatically transfer to e-van. For additional contact information and details, please visit the e-tran.org website. |

Paratransit, Inc., strives to provide the best service possible by utilizing the latest technology. We utilize the most advanced scheduling software available, and state of the art Mobile Data Computers equipped with GPS and navigation devices on our fleet of vehicles. Paratransit, Inc., will soon add Integrated Voice Response (IVR) to our tools.
IVR is an automated phone system that will integrate our existing technologies with the phone system. There are many enhancements that the IVR application will offer our riders. IVR will help reduce wait times on the phones by enabling our passengers to confirm, cancel, and possibly schedule their own trips using any touch-tone telephone. The IVR system will also be able to call out to our passengers, reminding them of trips scheduled for the next day, or to notify them that a vehicle is on its way to pick them up. The IVR system will even be able to inform passengers of the most current estimated arrival and drop off times because it will be connected directly to our scheduling system.
Paratransit, Inc., believes this technology will provide a great benefit to our riders. We'll post more information regarding how and when to use this feature soon. Stay tuned!

Paratransit, Inc. is always looking for the newest and most efficient ways to provide the best rides and most convenience, at the lowest possible cost. Part of this ongoing effort involves becoming more visible to our riders and the broader community. To keep costs down, we're gradually phasing in the updated logo design as we buy new equipment and reorder materials. We branded several vehicles in 2005 and will brand many more in 2006... hopefully, the entire fleet! Watch for us in a neighborhood near you! |
